FAQ 01 : What is the difference between Simple Invoice format and Normal Invoice Format

In Normal Invoice format (F-2A), the data elements of Invoice Particulars and Supplementary details are printed in separate cell. The Invoice looks smart and conforms to International Format. It takes more space for Invoice headers leaving less space for Item data. So, it is suitable for Invoice with few Items and is more suitable for printing in Standard Format.

In Simple Invoice format (F-2B), Invoice Particulars and Supplementary details take lesser space. Simple Format is useful to print more number of Items / Item details.

Invoice formats are independent of voucher entry format. The Invoice format is decided at the time of printing of Invoice, not at the time of invoice entry.

To set the Invoice printing format, at gateway, select F12:Configure>Printing to get Voucher printing Menu.  Now select :

  • Sales Transactions > Sales Invoice to get the Invoice configuration screen for Sales Invoice
  • Purchase Transactions > Purchase Voucher / Invoice to get Purchase Printing configuration screen for Purchase Voucher / Invoice

At the respective printing Configuration screen, at  option Print in Simple Format :

  • Set No to print in Normal Format
  • Set Yes to print in Simple  Format
