Foundation Courses of ICAI, ICMA and ICSI

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and Institute of Company Secretaries of India are India’s 3 top professional institutes offering courses on Accountancy, Business Law & Management.

These Institutes conduct eligibility Test, called Foundation Courses, for admission to their Course. These Tests are conducted on Objective Type of Questions (Multiple Choice Questions- MCQ), by the respective institutes.

Foundation Course of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

CA Foundation exam is the entry-level exam to become a Chartered Accountant, conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It can be taken up after passing Class 12, with minimum of 50% marks from recognised Board.

However, candidates having some specific qualification as prescribed by the Institute, may skip the Foundation Course and  take direct entry into CA Intermediate Course.

After passing the Foundation Examination, candidates have to qualify for the Intermediate, and Final Examinations of the Institute to become a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Foundation Course of Institute of Cost Accountants of India

The CMA foundation course is the entry level exam to become qualified Cost & Management Accountant. The exam is conducted by The Institute of Cost Management Accountants of India. 

Candidates must have completed class 12th with a minimum aggregate of 50% or above from a recognized board.

Candidates have to complete postal coaching conducted by the Institute, or oral coaching conducted by its recognised centres.

Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India, provide reciprocal exemption for Foundation Course, for candidates having passed examination of these Institutes.

Foundation Course of Institute of Company Secretaries of India 

ICSI Foundation course is the entry level for admission to become qualified Company Secretary. Candidates having passed Senior Secondary (10+2 or its equivalent) from a recognised Board. However, candidates enrolled for appearing for senior secondary course are also eligible to get provisional admission. They have to submit proof of passing the examination within 6 months of provisional admission.

Candidates have to complete postal coaching conducted by the Institute, or oral coaching conducted by its recognised centres.
