Journal Books in Tally PRIME
Accounts Journal Book is record of all Accounting transactions in chronological order. Traditionally, one Journal Book may contain all types of Accounting transactions. However, as per nature of transactions, Journal Book is divided into several Journal Books. Repetitive similar types of transactions are recoded in specified Subsidiary Journal Books, while accounting adjustments are recorded in Primary Journal Book (called as Journal Proper).
Journal Books in Tally PRIME
Journal Books show list of Non-Cash Vouchers (other than Contra, Payment & Receipt vouchers). Here we discuss about following types of Journal Books :
- Journal Register : List of Journal Vouchers
- Purchase Register : List of Purchase Vouchers
- Debit Note Register : List of Debit Note Vouchers
- Debit Note Register : List of Debit Note Vouchers
- Credit Note Register : List of Credit Note Vouchers
Accessing Journal Books in Tally PRIME
Journal Books me be accessed as follows:
GoT Main Menu : Select GoT>Display More Reports>Account Books to get Accounts Book Menu . All types of Journal Books may be displayed from Account Books Menu.
Go To Menu Bar : From GoTo Reports list, select Register
The selected Journal Regsiter is displayed.
Journal Register in Tally PRIME
Journal Register (also referred as Journal proper), shows the list of Journal Voucher (Non cash Vouchers, i.e other than Contra, Payment & Receipt Voucher), and Non-Trade Vouchers (like Sales, Purchase, Debit Note & Credit Note.
So, Journal Register contains only Journal Vouchers (Accounting Adjustment vouchers other than Contra, Payment, Receipt, Debit Note, Purchase, Debit Note & Credit Note vouchers).
Journal Register Display in Tally PRIME
On selection of Journal Register as explained, you get Journal Register Display showing the monthwise voucher numbers / Amount figures.
Drill down through any month to get list of Journal Vouchers for the selected month. Click Alt+F2 and enter the period to get the Journal Register showing list of all Journal Vouchers for the specified period.
Journal Register Display Configuration in Tally PRIME
At Journal Book Display, click F12:Configure button to get Journal Register Display Configuration screen. Set the Journal Book Display Configuration options.
Journal Register Printing in Tally PRIME
At Journal Book Display , press Ctrl+P to get Journal Register Printing screen. Set the options (mostly similar to Journal Book Display Configuration screen.
Click P:Print button (or type P) to print Journal Register. In Journal Register in print, the Debit & Credit figures are printed in separate column. However, only Debit Column totals are shown.
Sales Register in Tally PRIME
Like Journal Register, Sales Register is chronological list of Sales Vouchers for the specified period.
At Account Books Menu / Go To Tab, select Sales Register to get Sales Register showing the Monthly Summary.
Drill down through any month to get Sales Register showing list of Sales Voucher for the selected month. Click Alt+F2, set the Period to get the Sales Register showing list of Sales Vouchers for the specified period.
Sales Register Display Configuration in Tally PRIME
At Sales Register Display, click F12:Configure button to Sales Register Display Configuration screen. Now set the Sales Register Display Configuration options.
Sales Register Printing in Tally PRIME
At Sales Register Display (F-4B), press Ctrl+P to get Sales Register Printing screen .
Click C:Configure (to set Printing Configuration) / I:Preview (to Preview the Print Report on screen) / P:Print button (to print Sales Register on Printer :F-5B). Now set the Sales Register Printing Configuration options to get Sales Register in Print.
Purchase Register in Tally PRIME
Like Sales Register Purchase Register shows chronological list of Purchase Vouchers for the specified period.
Purchase Register Display in Tally PRIME
At Account Books Menu / Go To Tab, select Purchase Register to get Purchase Register showing the Monthly Summary. Drill down through any month to get Purchase Register showing list of Purchase Voucher for the selected month. Set the Period (F2) to get the Purchase Register showing list of Purchase Vouchers for the specified period.
Purchase Register Display Configuration
At Purchase Register Display, click F12:Configure button, and set the Purchase Register Display Configuration screen. Now set the Purchase Register Display Configuration options , to display Purchase Register , as per Purchase Register Display Configuration set.
Purchase Register Printing in Tally PRIME
At Purchase Register Display , press Ctrl+P to get Purchase Register Printing screen . Now set the Printing options to get the Purchase Register in Print. In Purchase Register in Print, the figures in debit and credit columns are shown separately but only the Credit Total columns are shown.
Click C:Configure (to set Printing Configuration) / I:Preview (to Preview the Print Report on screen) / P:Print button (to Print Purchase Register on Printer:
Debit Note Register in Tally PRIME
Like Purchase Register Debit Note Register shows the list of Debit Notes for the selected period.
Debit Note Register Display in Tally PRIME
At Account Books Menu / Go To Tab, select Debit Note Register to get Debit Note Register showing Monthly Number of Voucher Statistics. Drill down through any month to get Debit Note Register showing list of Debit Note Voucher for the selected month. Set the Period (F2) to get the Debit Note Register showing list of Debit Note Vouchers for the specified period.
Debit Note Register Display Configuration in Tally PRIME
At Debit Note Register Display, click F12:Configure button, to get the Debit Note Register Display Configuration screen for Debit Note Register Display. Now set the Debit Note Register Display Configuration options.
Debit Note Register Printing in Tally PRIME
At Debit Note Register Display, press Ctrl+P to get Debit Note Register Printing screen (F-9A). The Debit Note Register is printed, showing the figures in Debit & Credit columns, but the grand toal of Debit Columns is only printed.
Click C:Configure (to set Printing Configuration) / I:Preview (to Preview the Print Report on screen) / P:Print button to print Debit Note Register on Printer . The Debit Note register is printed as per Debit Note Register Printing Configuration options set.
Credit Note Register in Tally PRIME
Like Debit Note Register, Credit Note Register shows the list of Credit Notes for the selected period.
