Ledger Books in Tally PRIME

Ledger Book shows chorological records of collated transactions from Primary Books of Entry. The net balance of ledger account is carried in Financial Statements like Profit & Loss Account & Balance Sheet.

So, a Ledger Book is a collection of accounting transactions from all Primary Books of Entries. It shows the Opening balance of the Ledger Account, carried from closing balance of previous period, followed by transaction details related to the Ledger Account for the specified period, and the net balance of Debit & Credit totlas of te Ledger Account. The closing balance is carried in Financial Statements.

Ledger Book in Tally PRIME

Ledger Book in Tally prime is a report of assorted transactions of Journal Books, related to a specified ledger account.

Ledger Book shows Opening / Closing Balance & Transactions of the ledger account in chronological order, for  the specified period.

Accessing Ledger Account: Ledger Account may be accessed from GoT Main Menu or from GoTo Menu, as explained earlier.

GoT Main Menu : Select GoT>Display More Reports>Account Books>Ledger, and then selected the desired Ledger Account from the List of Ledger Accounts

GoTo Menu Bar :

Select GoTo>Ledger Reports>Ledger Vouchers and then select Ledger account from the list.

Select GoTo>Ledger Vouchers, and then selected the desired Ledger Account from the List of Ledger Accounts

Ledger Book Display in Tally PRIME

Select the Ledger Account from the Menu / List to get Ledger Vouchers Display as Ledger Book of the selected Ledger Account showing :

• Ledger Account transactions & Amount : Amount of the Ledger Account in respective Debit / Credit column in first line, followed by complementary Ledger Account and amount with Dr/Cr Sign (in Detail mode)
• Opening Balance : Opening Balance of  Ledger Account in respective column.
• Closing Balance : Closing Balance for the end of the period, in respective column.

Ledger Display Configuration in Tally PRIME

At Ledger Account Display, click F12:Configure to get Ledger Display Configuration screen. Set the Ledger Display Configuration options. The Ledger Book is displayed as per Ledger Display Configuration options set, for the selected period.

Ledger Book Printing in Tally PRIME

At Ledger Display screen, press Alt+P to get Ledger Book Printing Screen. Click C:Configure (or type C) to get Ledger printing Configuration screen to set the options to show the contents of Ledger Account. Click I:Preview to preview the ledger book before Printing. Click P:Print to Print the ledger book.

Now the Ledger Book is shown for the selected period, in Print Preview or Printed on Printer, as per Configuration options set,

Confirmation of Accounts Printing in Tally PRIME

To print Confirmation of Accounts, at Ledger Printing, click C:Configure. Under Report details section, at Report Type, select Confirmation of Accounts, Now click P:Print button to print Confirmation of Accounts.
